Ingrid Boveda, Ph.D, Licensed Psychologist

Bio

I received by Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with a minor in Statistics) from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. I chose to do my undergraduate degree in the same city where I was born and raised, because family connection is very important to me, and being able to swim in the beach any day of the year wasn’t so bad either. I had been drawn to psychology since I was a little girl and never really deviated from that interest. I eventually realized that I needed graduate training to be able to help people in the way that I felt drawn to do so.

I moved to Utah on a whim, after spending a summer in Utah doing research at the University of Utah. During that summer, I got to experience the beauty that is Utah’s national parks, camping for the first time, and being able to live in an area with a slower tempo than the bustling city that I was used to. I pursued my Master’s degree in Licensed Professional Counseling, where I worked with individuals in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities, private group practice, and those needing substance abuse assessments, as well as individuals from all over the lifespan. I ultimately chose to pursue my doctorate degree because of my interest in assessment, though it was also during my doctoral training that I gained experience at a college counseling center and community mental health practice.

More recently, I have focused on psychological, forensic, and neuropsychological evaluations with adolescents and young adults. My passion is to help find answers, for clients as well as their loved ones, and to work to find a path to healing for all those involved. I consider myself to be a part of a larger team that is focused on helping an individual rebalance and heal. When I’m not working, I really enjoy video games, anime, sitting out by the nearby lake, and spending time with loved ones. I think my unique interests make me relatable to some of the adolescents I’ve worked with, and it’s always fun to connect over the latest Legend of Zelda game or anime series.
